He Remains

I woke up this morning to a quiet melody already playing in my heart. Before I could even think about my day, these lyrics from the song Dwell were rolling through my mind:

“Holy, Holy, come and dwell among us.
Spirit moving, You reside within us.
From the first word to our last breath,
You remain.”

Even during my prayer time, I couldn’t shake those words.

To be completely honest, some mornings you wake up knowing you aren’t exactly preparing for a great day. You know what lies ahead, and you know things might completely derail your plans.

But as I sat with these lyrics, it felt like the Lord was gently holding me back, whispering a reminder that I don’t have to face any of it in my own strength.

Jesus knew there would be days like this. Before He returned to the Father, He promised that He would not leave us as orphans. He said He would send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, who would teach us, remind us of His words, guide us into all truth, and remain with us forever John 14:16–17, 26; John 16:13. What an incredible promise. We are never left to navigate life alone. The Holy Spirit walks with us, gently leading, strengthening, comforting, and filling our hearts with the peace that only Jesus can give.

No matter what this day brings, and no matter how much things change, His Spirit is right here with us, moving through us, guiding our steps, and acting as our ever present help in times of need.

We don’t have to carry the weight of the unknown. All we have to do is call on Him, and He will give us the strength to face whatever comes our way.

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”
1 Corinthians 3:16

It is deeply humbling to think that the same Spirit who spoke creation into existence, who raised Christ from the dead, and who moves mountains chooses to make His home in our hearts.

Whatever shifts, changes, or brings stress today, His presence remains completely unshaken. His peace is not dependent on our circumstances because His Spirit remains with us.

From my first thought this morning to my last breath tonight, He remains.

If you are facing a heavy day or feeling anxious about what lies ahead, I pray you will take a deep breath and remember just how close He really is.

You aren’t walking through this alone.

He remains.
