The Bible: God’s Living Word

Key Scripture

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16 (ESV)

Every strong building begins with a solid foundation. In the same way, every healthy Christian life begins with God’s Word. Before we learn about the church, prayer, or serving others, we must first understand that the Bible is God’s perfect and trustworthy message to mankind.

The Bible is not merely a collection of human ideas or ancient stories. Although God used many different men over many centuries to write it, every part of Scripture was inspired by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, when we read the Bible, we are hearing the voice of God speaking through His written Word.

The Bible tells us who God is. It explains why the world is the way it is. It reveals that all people have sinned and are separated from God. Most importantly, it points us to Jesus Christ, the only Savior, who came into the world to save sinners through His death and resurrection.

God’s Word also changes those who believe it. It teaches us what is true, exposes our sin, corrects our thinking, and trains us to live lives that honor Christ. As we obey God’s Word, the Holy Spirit works within us, making us more like Jesus.

A Christian who neglects the Bible will become spiritually weak. A Christian who reads, studies, believes, and obeys God’s Word will grow in wisdom, faith, and spiritual maturity. This growth is not produced by human effort alone, but by God’s grace working through His living and powerful Word.

As we begin this Daily Bread Fellowship journey together, let us commit ourselves to reading God’s Word every day. We will discover that the Bible is not simply a book to be admired, but God’s living message that transforms lives.

Reflection

Do I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God?
Am I willing to read God’s Word every day?
What changes does God want to make in my life through His Word?

Memory Verse

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105 (ESV)

This Week’s Challenge
