Good evening, brethren. Sorry for sending the devotional late!
1.Evening devotion for today.

ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE;*
FRIDAY 17TH JULY, 2026.

*SUB-THEME:*
THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE

*TOPIC:*
DIVISION.

*TEXT:*
1 CORINTHIANS 1:10-13.
10. I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
11. My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you.
12. Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.”
13. Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

*TOPIC:*
DIVISION.

*THE MESSAGE:*
Division means disunity or separation in opinion and interests. Strife gives rise to divisions and formations of cliques. The Church in Corinth found itself in this mess. There was disagreement amongst members because they affiliated and relied after leaders of their choice. This was an unhealthy situation. Paul pleaded with the Church to agree with one another and give no room for division. He urged them to be united in Christ, emphasising the pitching camps is foolishness. He reminded them that Christ, the head of the church in whom they were baptised, is not divided. Factors such as personal, trial, and class interests, among others, are responsible for divisions in the church today. As a child of grace, do not instigate division but rather foster unity.

*REFLECTION:*
Division hinders progress.

*PRAYER:*
Lord help me to promote unity. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
HEBREWS 10:29.
How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
ISAIAH 13-16.

ED.ii. WHAT OBSTRUCTS PRAYER

"All those the Father gives Me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will never drive away." - John 6:37

What obstructs our prayers? Every transgression of a Divine institution is sin and every sin knowingly not dealt with, stands in the way of our prayer.

The grace gate is always open

The mistake is always on our side when our prayers are hindered. The access to God is always free because of Calvary! 'Whoever comes to Me I will never drive away.' The gate of grace is open day and night for every child of God.

Sometimes it seems as if our prayers bounce back and God does not want to hear nor receive them. How do we reconcile this? On the one hand, the Bible says the gate is wide open and that we must come to Him with boldness. On the other hand, it seems the gate is closed.

We have to determine one thing though! The grace gate which is the access to God is never closed by God. Because God does what He said in His Word and His Word says:

1) 'Come near to God and He will come near to you'

2) 'Whoever comes to Me I will never drive away'

3) 'Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you.'

Locks in our lives

The problem is on our side. It has to be because the locks of the gate are only on our side. The largest lock we must remove is sin. The gate remains closed until we confess and deal with sin. There is only one who can close the grace gate to God and that is man himself. A lock in life could be lust, unbelief, sins not confessed, wrong or negative thoughts, not wanting to obey or forgive, idols, jealousy, lack of time spent with God or not putting on the spiritual armor.

2. Evening Prayer for today.

EP.i. A MEEK SPIRIT

"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart." - Matthew 11:28-29

Help me today, dear Father, to overcome evil by doing good. Help me not to be easily upset or angry when I am being attacked or mocked. Teach me to have that meek spirit You speak about in Your word. Help me to love, understand, and bless others.
