FOCUS ON WHAT YOU CAN CHANGE

Scripture Reading:
2 Corinthians 4:18 (AMPC)
"Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting."

One of the greatest expressions of wisdom is knowing where to invest your time, energy, and attention. Life presents us with two realities: there are things we can change, and there are things we cannot. Peace and progress come when we recognize the difference.

The Apostle Paul demonstrated this wisdom when he wrote:

Philippians 3:13 (NLT)
"No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead."

The past is one thing you cannot change. Yesterday's mistakes, failures, missed opportunities, and regrets cannot be rewritten. Likewise, tomorrow has not yet arrived and remains beyond your control. What you do have is today—the opportunity to make choices that shape the future God has prepared for you.

Do not allow the disappointments of yesterday to determine the direction of your tomorrow. While you cannot change what has already happened, you can learn from it. Every failure can become a lesson, every setback can become preparation, and every regret can become motivation to grow in wisdom and obedience.

If you neglected your prayer life yesterday, begin again today. If you made poor decisions in the past, seek God's wisdom and make better ones now. If you fell short, receive God's grace, rise again, and keep moving forward. The future is influenced not by yesterday's failures but by today's faithful decisions.

Choose to focus on what God has placed within your reach. Walk in obedience today, trust Him with tomorrow, and leave the past in His hands.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wisdom found in Your Word. Help me to let go of the things I cannot change and to faithfully steward the opportunities You have given me today. Strengthen me to learn from the past, live wisely in the present, and trust You with my future. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Bible Reading:
Philippians 3:1–18; Ephesians 5:16

Wisdom Capsule:
Proverbs 3:8 (MSG)
"Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!"
