BE READY, BE FAITHFUL, BE COMPASSIONATE
```TEXT: MATTHEW 25:1-46```
```KEY VERSE:``` "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh" (MATTHEW 25:13).
Matthew 25 is the closing word of Jesus before the cross - a call to live ready for His return. He gave three pictures: the ten virgins waiting for the bridegroom, the servants entrusted with talents, and the King separating the sheep from the goats. All three ask one question: When Jesus comes, what will He find in your hands and in your heart?
Three lessons from our Lordโs teaching: One, readiness is personal. โThe wise took oil in their vessels with their lampsโ (verse 4). You cannot borrow oil on the last day. Salvation, intimacy with Jesus, a life filled with the Holy Spirit must be yours today, not tomorrow. Two, faithfulness is required. โWell done, thou good and faithful servantโ (verse 21). God does not measure by how much you received, but by what you did with what you received. Use your gift, your time, your little, for His glory. Three, love is the proof. โInasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto meโ (verse 40). True readiness shows in how we treat the hungry, the lonely, the forgotten.
The Bridegroom is coming. The Master will return to settle accounts. The King will sit on His throne. Are you ready? Keep your lamp burning through prayer and the Word, be faithful in your corner of duty, and let your faith work through compassion. On that day, it will not be our talk, but our walk that will speak.
โ๐ฝ```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` At His coming, Jesus will not ask how much you had, but how ready, how faithful, and how loving you were.
