Anxiety

*1 Peter 5:6-8 NIV*
_6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time._
_7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you._
_8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour._

*How it flows together*
1. *v6 - Humble yourself*
"Under God’s mighty hand" = Acknowledge you’re not in control of everything. That’s not weakness, it’s wisdom. And the promise is _he will lift you up in due time_.
2. *v7 - Cast your anxiety*
Because He’s strong and He cares. You don’t have to carry what was never meant for you to carry alone.
3. *v8 - Stay alert*
Peter immediately warns: while you’re anxious/worn out, that’s when the enemy attacks. Anxiety, fear, and worry make us easy targets. So stay sober-minded and watchful.

*The big idea*
Humility → Surrender your worries → Stay spiritually alert.
It’s about trading control for trust, and fear for faith.

This passage is right at the end of 1 Peter. Peter had just told them they were going to suffer, and now he’s telling them how to stand firm in it.
