A Nugget of Truth.
DO WE FLOAT OFF INTO HEAVEN THE MOMENT WE DIE?

**No.**

If that were true, it would mean humans already have an immortal soul that keeps living apart from the body.

But Scripture says: "God"
“Who only hath immortality…”
1 Timothy 6:16

God alone possesses immortality by nature. Humanity does not.

The Bible also says:
“The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23

How can the wages of sin be death if the soul cannot die?

How can eternal life be a gift if every person already has an immortal soul?

Ezekiel says plainly:
“The soul that sinneth, it shall die.”
Ezekiel 18:4

And Paul teaches that immortality is something the righteous receive at the resurrection — not something they already possess:
“This mortal must put on immortality.”
1 Corinthians 15:53

The immortal soul doctrine does not come from Scripture. It opens the door to many deceptions, including the belief that the dead are alive now and can communicate with the living.

But the Bible teaches that death is a sleep, and our hope is not found in an immortal soul.

Our hope is found in the resurrection through Jesus Christ.

Without Christ, there is no eternal life.
With Christ, death is not the end.
