Need to know.
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS ACTUALLY TRUE?
In a world overflowing with conflicting opinions, spiritual theories, human philosophy, and religious confusion, God has not left us without a test.
He has given us an absolute anchor:
“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”
Isaiah 8:20
This verse gives us the ultimate spiritual compass.
“To the law” points us back to God’s revealed will — His written Word, His commandments, and His unchanging standard of truth.
“To the testimony” points us to the message God has given through His prophets — a testimony that must always agree with the Scriptures.
Together, the law and the testimony give us the complete, harmonious counsel of God.
Isaiah’s warning is serious. We are not to test truth by feelings, popularity, culture, church tradition, human wisdom, or spiritual experiences. We are to test everything by the Word of God.
If a teaching, doctrine, philosophy, or message does not agree with Scripture, the Bible says plainly:
“There is no light in them.”
No matter how sincere it sounds.
No matter how popular it becomes.
No matter how spiritual it appears.
Truth must harmonise with the written Word of God.
In these last days, deception will only increase. That is why we must cling to the light God has already given.
**To the law and to the testimony.**
If it does not agree with Scripture, it does not belong in the light.
