Necessity Not Obligation.
Most Christians acknowledge the importance of spending time alone with God, but don’t fully realize how critical it is if you want a close and personal relationship with Him. It is through our daily devotions, praise, and worship that we learn to communicate with our Creator, and without it we become spiritually dead. The more time you spend in prayer and study, the more you grow in your walk with God. Soon, setting time aside each day becomes a necessity, not an obligation! You’ll find that you are eager to enter into His presence, and it won’t feel like something you “have” to do, but rather a special time you look forward to. Without daily spiritual food, you become weak and eventually numb to the pleadings of the Holy Spirit. If you only ate one meal a week, it wouldn’t be long before your health collapsed, and it is no different when referring to spiritual food. Make God a priority in your life, and daily devotions will become a priority too. If you want God to work through you and intervene in your life, then take the time to get to know Him and listen to His still small voice, giving you words of wisdom and divine direction, and most importantly, filling you with His Holy Spirit so that you can truly be a shining beacon for Him. Make a commitment to spend quality time with God each and every day - it’s life-changing! Expect great things! Text: Matthew 6:33, Romans 5:5, Jeremiah 20:13, Psalm 100
