```TEXT: ISAIAH 53:3-7```
```KEY VERSE:``` "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed" (ISAIAH 53:5).
Seven hundred years before Jesus was born, Isaiah saw Calvary. He saw a Man despised and rejected, a Man of sorrows acquainted with grief. Yet this Man was not suffering for His own sin β He was suffering for ours. Every wound had a name. Every bruise had a purpose. The Cross was not an accident; it was substitution. He was wounded in our place.
Three truths from His wounds: One, His wounds forgive our transgressions. βHe was wounded for our transgressions.β Transgressions β our willful rebellion. The spear, the nails, the thorns β they pierced Him because we transgressed. Two, His bruises break our iniquities. βHe was bruised for our iniquities.β Iniquities β our twisted, bent nature. He was crushed under the weight of it, so we could be made straight. Three, His stripes purchase our peace and healing. βThe chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.β The punishment that brought us peace β peace with God, peace in conscience β fell on Him. And healing flows still β for body, soul, and spirit.
Do you carry today the guilt of transgression, the weight of iniquity, the unrest of a troubled heart? Look to Calvary. The prophet said it 700 years early so you would believe it today: He was wounded for you. He was bruised for you. His wounds are your healing. Come to the Cross and be whole.
Prayer
Man of Sorrows, thank You for being wounded for my transgressions and bruised for my iniquities. Thank You for taking my chastisement so I could have Your peace. Today I receive Your forgiveness, Your cleansing, and Your healing. Let the wounds You bore speak over my guilt, my sickness, and my sorrow, in Jesusβ name I pray. Amen.
May the Lord reveal His wounds to you today. May His forgiveness cover your past, His peace guard your heart, and may His stripes bring healing to every wounded part of your life, through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. πΌ
