Have you ever heard the expression, be careful what you ask for?

I asked for patience and God placed me in situations where I was forced to wait.

"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."

I asked for love and God gave me troubled people to help.

"Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor Will also cry himself and not be heard."

I asked for favors and God gave me opportunities.

"He who follows righteousness and mercy Finds life, righteousness, and honor."

I asked for everything so I could enjoy life but instead, He gave me life so I could enjoy everything.

"It is like the dew of Hermon,
Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing—Life forevermore."

I received nothing I wanted, but I received everything I needed.

"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen."

Another expression is, unanswered prayers. There is no such thing, God hears and replies to every single prayer that has ever been prayed. You just have to be prepared for the reply that you are not expecting.
