THE CROSS OF CALVARY

WEDNESDAY 22ND JULY, 2026

```TEXT: COLOSSIANS 1:19-22```
```KEY VERSE:``` "And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven" (COLOSSIANS 1:20).

Paul tells us what happened at the Cross: peace was made. We were not neutral โ€” we were enemies. Sin had broken fellowship, brought hostility, and put enmity between holy God and sinful man. But at Calvary, blood was shed. Not gold, not silver, not good intentions. Blood. And that blood did not just cover sin; it made peace. The war is over for those in Christ.

Three truths from the peace of the Cross: One, peace was made through blood. โ€œHaving made peace through the blood of his cross.โ€ You cannot make your own peace with God by prayer, fasting, or charity. Peace had to be made by Another. The blood of Jesus is Godโ€™s peace treaty, signed in red. Two, we who were enemies are now reconciled. โ€œAnd you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciledโ€ (verse 21). Calvary changed our status. We were far, now near. We were alienated, now family. Three, He will present us holy. โ€œIn the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sightโ€ (verse 22). The Cross does not just bring peace today; it guarantees perfection tomorrow. He will present you faultless because His blood made peace.

Are you still at war within โ€” fighting guilt, fighting God, fighting yourself? Stop fighting. The peace has been made. The blood has been shed. Come back to the Cross this morning and rest in the reconciliation Jesus already secured for you.

Prayer
Father of peace, thank You for making peace through the blood of the Cross. I was alienated, an enemy, but You reconciled me. I lay down my striving today and receive Your peace again. Cleanse my conscience, quiet my heart, and help me to walk today as one who is holy and unblameable in Your sight, in Jesusโ€™ name I pray. Amen.

May the Lord usher you into His peace today. May the blood of the Cross silence every accusation, may His reconciliation lift your guilt, and may His peace that passeth all understanding keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. ๐Ÿผ
