"I WILL" — GOD'S PROMISES FOR EVERY DAY
I WILL COMPLETE WHAT I BEGAN
Scripture: Epistle to the Philippians 1:6 (LLV) —
“I am completely confident that the One who began His good work in you will faithfully carry it on until the day Christ Jesus returns.”
God never begins
a work
He intends
to abandon.
We often start
with enthusiasm.
A new project.
A new habit.
A new goal.
Yet many things
remain unfinished.
Not so
with God.
“He who began…”
Long before
we recognized
our need for Him,
God was already
at work.
He planted
the first seeds
of faith.
He stirred
our hearts.
He drew us
to Himself.
Our story
did not begin
with our search
for God.
It began
with His pursuit
of us.
“His good work…”
The work
God performs
is always good.
Sometimes
it is joyful.
Sometimes
it comes
through difficult seasons.
But every part
of His work
has one purpose—
to make us
more like Christ.
“He will carry it on…”
Notice
who performs
the work.
Not us.
God does.
We cooperate
with Him,
but the promise
rests upon
His faithfulness,
not ours.
There may be days
when we stumble.
Days
when our faith
feels weak.
Days
when progress
seems painfully slow.
Yet God's hands
never stop working.
“Until the day
Christ Jesus returns.”
God is patient.
He is not
in a hurry.
He sees
the finished masterpiece
long before
we can imagine it.
Every lesson.
Every trial.
Every victory.
Every quiet act
of obedience.
He uses them all
to shape us.
As we continue
this journey,
we discover
that God's promises
are not measured
by today's progress.
They are anchored
in His unwavering commitment
to finish
what He has begun.
A new beginning finds confidence here:
understanding that our hope rests not in our ability to grow perfectly, but in God's faithful promise to complete His transforming work within us.
Reflection: When I become discouraged by my spiritual growth, do I focus on how far I still have to go, or on the faithfulness of the God who has promised to finish His work in me?
Prayer: Father, thank You for never giving up on me. When I become impatient with my own growth, remind me that You are still at work. Help me trust Your timing, cooperate with Your Spirit, and rest in the confidence that You will complete every good work You have begun in my life. Amen.
