Faith That Moves Forward
Trust God, Follow His Voice, and Possess His Promise
Scripture: Deuteronomy 1:19–25 (KJV)
Key Verse:
"Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged." — Deuteronomy 1:21 (KJV)
Thought Of The Day...
There are moments in every believer's life when God places us at the edge of a new season. It may be a new ministry, a new career, a restored relationship, or a deeper walk with Him. Like the children of Israel standing at the border of the Promised Land, we are faced with a choice: will we trust God's promise, or will we allow fear to keep us standing still?
God had already declared that the land belonged to Israel. The promise was settled before they ever took the first step. Yet they still had to trust Him enough to move forward. The same is true for us today. Many of God's blessings require not only faith but also obedience. We cannot possess what we refuse to pursue.
Too often we focus on the "giants" in our lives—our fears, insecurities, failures, and impossible situations—rather than the greatness of our God. The ten spies saw obstacles, but Joshua and Caleb saw opportunity because they believed God's Word more than what their eyes could see. Faith doesn't deny the presence of difficulties; it declares that God is greater than every difficulty.
Perhaps God has been prompting you to step out in faith, forgive someone, begin a new ministry, share your testimony, or trust Him with a situation that seems impossible. Don't let fear rob you of God's best. His command is still the same: "Fear not, neither be discouraged."
Remember, God's promises are never limited by your circumstances. When He calls you forward, He also goes before you. The One who gives the promise is the One who provides the strength, wisdom, and grace to fulfill it.
Today, don't remain at the border of your blessing. Trust God's Word, follow His voice without hesitation, and step boldly into the future He has prepared for you.
Something to Think About...
1. What promise from God's Word do you need to trust more fully today?
2. Is fear or discouragement keeping you from obeying God's direction?
3. What step of faith is God asking you to take this week?
4. Are you focusing more on your obstacles or on God's power?
5. What area of your life do you need to surrender completely to the Lord?
Prayer...
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unfailing promises and Your constant presence in my life. Forgive me for the times I have allowed fear, doubt, and discouragement to keep me from obeying You. Help me to trust Your Word above my circumstances and to follow Your voice with confidence. Strengthen my faith to step out in obedience, even when I cannot see the whole path before me. Fill me with courage through the power of Your Holy Spirit, and lead me into every purpose You have prepared for my life. I declare that I will no longer be controlled by fear but will walk by faith, trusting that You are faithful to complete what You have promised. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
