KEY VERSE:``` "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed" (1 PETER 2:24).
Peter stood at a distance when Jesus went to Calvary. He saw the Cross with his own eyes. Now, years later, he writes to suffering believers: look to the tree. โHis own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.โ Not another, not an angel โ His own self. Your sin, your name, your guilt was laid upon His own body. The tree that was meant to be a curse became your cure.
Three truths from the tree: One, He bore our sins alone. โHis own self bare our sins.โ No one shared that weight. The Father laid upon Him the iniquity of us all, and He carried it to the hill and paid it all. Two, He died that we might live differently. โThat we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness.โ Calvary not only pardons us from sinโs penalty; it frees us from sinโs power. You are dead to what once killed you. Three, His wounds are your healing. โBy whose stripes ye were healed.โ The stripes on His back are the prescription for your sickness, your broken heart, your wounded past. The Cross heals what life has broken.
Are you still carrying what He already carried? Guilt He bore, shame He took, sin He nailed to the tree? Lay it down today. He carried it so you wouldnโt have to. Come to the Cross โ dead to sin, alive to righteousness, healed by His stripes.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for bearing my sins in Your own body on the tree. Thank You that I am dead to sin and alive unto righteousness. I receive Your healing through Your stripes โ healing for my spirit, soul, and body. Help me to walk today as one who is freed by Calvary, in Jesusโ name I pray. Amen.
May the Lord show you the power of the tree today. May His blood blot out every guilt, may His life break every chain of sin, and may His stripes bring healing to every broken place in your life, through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. ๐ผ
