Isaiah writes to people facing exile, and God calls them by name: created, formed, redeemed, and His own. He does not promise dry ground or a cool fire, but His own presence in the flood and the flame. The Holy One who ransomed Israel from Egypt still walks beside the people He has named. So when deep waters rise and the fire draws near, we pass through; not swept away, not burned, and never alone.
