July 26 🌿 "FOLLOW ME" — THE JOURNEY OF A DISCIPLE FOLLOW ME 📖 Luke 5:27–28 (LLV) — “After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at his tax booth. Jesus said to him, ‘Follow Me.’ Levi got up, left everything, and followed Him.” Jesus did not begin with a lecture. He did not ask Levi to prove himself. He simply extended an invitation. “Follow Me.” Levi was not the person most people would have chosen. As a tax collector, he was looked down upon by his own people. Many believed someone like him could never be used by God. But Jesus saw what others could not. He saw a future disciple. A future Gospel writer. A life that would be completely changed by grace. Levi had a choice. He could remain at the table that represented security, comfort, and the life he had always known. Or he could trust the One who was calling him. He stood. He left everything. And he followed. The remarkable part of the story is not what Levi gave up. It is Who he gained. Following Jesus is not merely walking away from an old life. It is walking toward the One who gives life its greatest purpose. That same invitation still echoes today. Not only to pastors. Not only to missionaries. But to every person whose heart hears the Savior's voice. “Follow Me.” A new beginning starts here: discovering that following Jesus is not about what we leave behind, but about the Savior we gain. Reflection: What is Jesus asking me to trust Him with today as I continue to follow Him? Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for calling ordinary people to follow You. Thank You that Your invitation is still extended today. Help me to trust You more than my own security, plans, or comfort. Give me the courage to follow wherever You lead, knowing that walking with You is life's greatest privilege. Amen.
