"FOLLOW ME" — THE JOURNEY OF A DISCIPLE
FOLLOW ME...AND SHINE MY LIGHT
Matthew 10:27 (LLV) —
“What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the daylight. What you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops.”
Jesus
often taught
His disciples
away
from the crowds.
There were moments
of quiet.
Moments
when truth
settled deeply
into their hearts.
But those moments
were never meant
to remain
private.
What they learned
in the quiet,
they were
to share
with the world.
The same
is true
for us.
God often speaks
during
our quiet times.
As we read
His Word.
As we pray.
As we listen
for His voice.
Those moments
strengthen
our faith.
But they also
prepare us
to encourage
someone else.
Our faith
was never meant
to be hidden.
Not hidden
by fear.
Not hidden
by embarrassment.
Not hidden
because we think
our story
is too ordinary.
Every believer
has received
the light
of Christ.
And light
was never created
to remain
under cover.
Jesus
does not ask
all of us
to stand
behind a pulpit.
But He does
call each of us
to let others
see
what He has done
in our lives.
Sometimes
that witness
comes through
our words.
Sometimes
through
our kindness.
Sometimes
through
the quiet peace
others notice
when life
becomes difficult.
Wherever
Jesus leads,
He also
gives us
opportunities
to shine
His light.
A new beginning starts here:
sharing with others the hope Christ has placed within your own heart.
Reflection: Is there someone today who needs to hear or see the hope that Jesus has given me?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for speaking to my heart through Your Word. Help me not to keep Your truth to myself. Give me courage to speak when You open the door, wisdom to know when to be silent, and a life that reflects Your love every day. May others see Your light shining through me. Amen.
