READ WITH ME – DAY 7
Topic: The Word of God as Our Daily Bread
Key Verse:
Jesus answered, "It is written, 'Man must not live only on bread. He must also live on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
— Matthew 4:4 (NIrV)
Today's Reflection
Just as our bodies need food every day to remain healthy and strong, our spirits also need daily nourishment. That nourishment is the Word of God.
When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He reminded us that life is sustained not only by physical food but also by every word that comes from God. His Word strengthens our faith, renews our minds, guides our decisions, and equips us to overcome temptation.
Many people never skip breakfast, lunch, or dinner, yet they neglect the spiritual food that gives lasting life. A believer who ignores God's Word will eventually become spiritually weak, regardless of how long they have been a Christian.
Make it a daily habit to read, study, and meditate on the Scriptures. As God's Word fills your heart, it will shape your character, strengthen your faith, and help you become more like Christ.
Never allow a day to pass without feeding on God's Word. Make the Word of God your daily bread.
Today's Takeaway:
A Christian who feeds on God's Word daily will grow strong enough to stand when temptation comes.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to hunger for Your Word every day. Let it become my daily bread, strengthening my faith, guiding my decisions, and helping me live a life that pleases You. Amen.
