Today’s Scripture
John 1:43 (ESV)
“The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, ‘Follow me.’”
Opening the Scriptures
The call of Jesus to Philip was simple, direct, and life-changing: “Follow Me.”

Jesus did not begin by explaining every detail of the journey ahead. He did not reveal every trial Philip would face or every blessing he would receive. He simply called him to follow.

That same call reaches every believer today. Christianity is not merely agreeing with certain truths about Jesus; it is a daily commitment to walk with Him, trust Him, obey Him, and become more like Him.

Notice that Jesus sought Philip before Philip sought Jesus. This reminds us that salvation begins with God’s gracious initiative. The Lord calls sinners to Himself, opens their hearts to believe, and then leads them in a life of faithful discipleship.

Following Christ is not always easy, but it is always worth it. There is no greater privilege than walking with the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Living God’s Word Today
Every morning, the Lord’s invitation remains the same:

“Follow Me.”
Following Jesus means trusting Him when the path is uncertain, obeying Him when His commands are difficult, and remaining faithful when the world encourages compromise.

Ask yourself today:
Am I truly following Christ, or am I asking Him to follow my plans?

A faithful disciple does not merely admire Jesus from a distance. He walks with Him each day, learns from His Word, depends upon His grace, and seeks to glorify Him in every decision.

Today, hear His voice afresh.
“Follow Me.”

May you know Christ more deeply, trust Him more fully, and glorify Him more faithfully today than yesterday.
