The Eternal Word

John 1:1-5 NKJV SB Kids Nelson In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was in the beginning with God.

All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

The History of Creation

Genesis 1:1-5 NKJV SB Kids Nelson In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

Christ Comes to the World

John 1:1-5 NCV ICB Word Before the world began, there was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was with God in the beginning.

All things were made through him. Nothing was made without him.

In him there was life. That life was light for the people of the world.

The light shines in the darkness. And the darkness has not overpowered the Light.

The Beginning of the World

The earth was empty and had no form. Darkness covered the ocean, and God's Spirit was moving over the water.

Then God said, "Let there be light!" And there was light.

God saw that the light was good. So he divided the light from the darkness.

God named the light "day" and the darkness "night." Evening passed, and morning came. This was the first day.
