But Paul tells us that one day the source, the very origin of iniquity, will be revealed. One day all the hidden things of darkness, all the vileness of evil, will be placed in one person. That man, the Antichrist, will reign in this world and will be loved like no leader before him. He will promise peace but bring destruction. He will promise prosperity but bring poverty. More than this, he will make and then dreadfully break a covenant with Israel. He will go into the rebuilt temple and seat himself as God over the earth.
