A Clean Heart.

As a Christian, you profess to love Jesus and to follow His example by being “like Him.” But all too often, you don’t know the condition of your own heart. It is when you are put to the test that your real character is revealed. When someone gets angry and yells at you, what is your response? When a stranger cuts you off in traffic or steals your parking space, how do you react? When your co-worker gets the promotion that was meant for you, how do you respond? It is during times like these that what’s truly in your heart is revealed. The Bible says in Mark 7:20, “What comes out of a person is what defiles them.” What you say and what you do tells people whether or not you belong to God. More importantly, if we want a home in heaven, our lives must reflect the character of Christ. Ask God to perfect your character by praying David’s prayer in Psalm 51:10: “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” When you have Christ’s spirit living within you, your words and actions will reveal His love to everyone around you! Start each day by asking God to give you a “clean heart,” so that you can truly shine for Him! Text: Romans 5:3-5, Proverbs 27:19, Luke 8:17, 1 Corinthians 15:33
