EVERYONE WANTED THE GIANT TO FALL... BUT THEY MISSED THE FIVE STONES. When David walked into the Valley of Elah, everyone saw one giant. David picked up five smooth stones. He only used one. For years, people have asked, "Why did he need five if one was enough?" Here's what many people miss. The Bible later reveals that Goliath was not the only giant. Other mighty warriors from Gath would later rise against Israel. Scripture doesn't tell us why David chose five stones. But it does reveal something greater. David came trusting God... And he came prepared. Faith is not the absence of preparation. Faith prepares because it trusts God. David wasn't doubting God's power. He was acting wisely while depending completely on God. Then one stone left the sling. The giant fell. Not because the stone was powerful... But because God was. Here's the deeper lesson. Many people pray for victory... But never prepare for it.
