Daily Bible Lesson.
TIME IS ALMOST UP! JESUS IS COMING AGAIN!

ARE YOU READY? ARE YOU IN THE KINGDOM?

“So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.”
— Matthew 24:33

There are many signs showing that we are living in the very last days.

But today, let us look at something many people may have never considered—the Good Samaritan and the mysterious symbolism of the “two pence.”
1. THE GOOD SAMARITAN — A PICTURE OF JESUS
Luke 10:30–35
Jesus told the story of a man who was attacked by thieves, wounded, and left half dead.
Then came a Samaritan who:
Had compassion on him
Went to him
Bound up his wounds
Poured in oil and wine
Took him to an inn
Cared for him
Paid the host to continue caring for him
Promised: “When I come again, I will repay thee.”
There is much we can learn from this powerful story.

2. WHAT COULD THE SYMBOLS REPRESENT?
THE THIEVES — Satan and sin, which seek to destroy humanity.
THE MAN ROBBED AND BEATEN — Humanity, wounded and dying in sin.
THE PRIEST AND LEVITE — Religious systems and human efforts that cannot, by themselves, save a sinner.
THE GOOD SAMARITAN — Jesus Christ, the One who has compassion and brings salvation.
THE INN — A picture of God's people and the community of believers, where those who are wounded can receive care and encouragement.
THE HOST — Those entrusted with caring for God's people while waiting for the Samaritan's return.
THE PROMISE — “When I come again, I will repay thee.”
JESUS IS COMING AGAIN!

3. WHAT ABOUT THE “TWO PENCE”?
The Good Samaritan gave the host two pence and said:
“Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.”
— Luke 10:35
Why two pence?
To explore this symbolism, let us look at another parable Jesus told.

4. THE PARABLE OF THE LABOURERS
Matthew 20:1–2
Jesus said:
“The kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.”
The labourers agreed to work for a penny a day.
ONE PENNY = ONE DAY'S WAGE
Now consider the symbolism:
The Good Samaritan represents Jesus.
The host represents those caring for the wounded.
The two pence were provided until the Samaritan returned.
In Matthew 20, one penny represented one day's wage.
So, in this interpretation:
ONE PENNY → ONE DAY
TWO PENCE → TWO DAYS
Could the two days point prophetically to a longer period of waiting?

5. “ONE DAY IS AS A THOUSAND YEARS”
2 Peter 3:8
“One day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
This verse has led some Bible students to see a possible symbolic connection:
ONE DAY → 1,000 YEARS
TWO DAYS → 2,000 YEARS
If the two pence of the Good Samaritan are understood symbolically as two days, then some see this as a picture pointing toward approximately 2,000 years between Christ's first coming and His promised return.

WE ARE LIVING NEAR THE END OF THAT PERIOD!
But we must be careful:
This is a symbolic interpretation—not a prophecy that gives us a specific date.
The Bible does not give us permission to set a date for Christ's return.
Matthew 24:36 reminds us that no one knows the day or hour.

6. JESUS IS AT THE DOOR!
Whether or not we accept this particular symbolic interpretation, one truth remains absolutely certain:
JESUS IS COMING AGAIN!
The signs of the times should awaken us.
The world is changing.
Prophecy is unfolding.
Time is moving forward.
The great controversy is approaching its climax.
And Jesus Himself warned:
“When ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.”
— Matthew 24:33

7. DON'T WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW!
Do not say:
“I have plenty of time.”
“I will get serious with God later.”
“I will prepare when the final crisis begins.”
“I have years left.”
We do not know how much time we personally have.
And we do not know the exact moment when Christ will return.
Romans 9:28 says:
“For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness.”
The work of preparation must begin NOW.

TODAY IS THE DAY TO GET READY!
Seek Jesus while He may be found.
Study the Word of God.
Repent and turn away from sin.
Allow the Holy Spirit to transform your life.
Be faithful to God's truth.
Care for those who are wounded and hurting.
Share the gospel and the Three Angels' Messages.
Prepare for the soon return of Jesus Christ!

TIME IS RUNNING OUT.

THE GOOD SAMARITAN IS COMING AGAIN!

JESUS CHRIST IS COMING AGAIN!

ARE YOU READY?

ARE YOU IN THE KINGDOM?

“Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
— Revelation 22:20

TODAY IS THE DAY TO GET READY! DON'T PUT IT OFF!
