The Main Reason Why We Have Failed

We have left the command of Christ and become busy with denominations, church membership, and many other things, while the command of Jesus is simple: Go and make disciples of all nations.

When the Church forgets its mission, it loses its focus. Our calling is not merely to build denominations, increase attendance, or count members; it is to make disciples who truly follow Jesus Christ.

Jesus said:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV)

The Great Commission in Three Commands

1. Go and make disciples of all nations

The mission of the Church is not merely to gather crowds or increase membership, but to reach every nation with the gospel and raise true followers of Jesus Christ.

2. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

Baptism is the public identification of a believer with the Triune God and with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

3. Teach them to observe all that Jesus commanded

Discipleship does not end at conversion or baptism. Believers must be taught to obey, live, and walk according to the teachings of Christ.

The Church must move from making church members to making disciples—disciples who know Christ, follow Christ, obey Christ, and make Him known among all nations.
