"THE HEART" — WHAT GOD SEES WITHIN
THE HEART GOD SEES
1 Samuel 16:7 (LLV) —
“The LORD does not see as people see. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
We spend
much of life
concerned
about
how we appear
to others.
Our words.
Our actions.
Our accomplishments.
Our reputation.
These things
have value.
But they are not
what God
sees first.
“The LORD
looks
at the heart.”
He sees
what no one else
can see.
Our motives.
Our desires.
Our thoughts.
Our loves.
Our fears.
The hidden places
we often keep
from everyone else.
Nothing
is hidden
from His eyes.
Yet this truth
is not meant
to frighten us.
It is meant
to comfort us.
Others
may misunderstand us.
They may judge us
by appearances.
But God
knows
the whole story.
He sees
every quiet act
of faithfulness.
Every unseen
act of kindness.
Every prayer
whispered
through tears.
Every sincere desire
to please Him.
He also sees
the places
where our hearts
need to grow.
Not to condemn us,
but to transform us.
David
was overlooked
by everyone else.
Even his own family.
But while others
saw
a shepherd boy,
God saw
a heart
that trusted Him.
God is still
looking
at hearts.
Not searching
for perfection.
But for hearts
that are willing
to trust Him,
love Him,
and be shaped
by His grace.
A new beginning starts here:
remembering that while people often judge what they can see, God lovingly looks at the heart He is transforming.
Reflection: If God looks first at my heart, what does He see growing within me today?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing beyond appearances and looking into my heart. Help me care more about who I am before You than how I appear before others. Continue shaping my heart to love what You love, trust where You lead, and reflect Your character in everything I do. Amen.
