CONSECRATION
TEXT: 2 Timothy 2:20–21 (KJV)
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.”
We have already established the truth that CONSECRATION is not a state but a PROCESS. We do not get to a point where we can say, “We are holy”. But we continuously walk towards perfection daily.
From our text, we discover that consecration is a choice we take and do ourselves, “...If a man therefore purge himself from these”. Here it says, “if a man therefore purge himself…” It is a decision you make: either to be consecrated to God or to the devil.
No man is useless; it is either you are used by God or by the Devil. For in this great house, we have vessels for honour and vessels for dishonour. This shows that there is a vessel for almost everything. If God looks for honour, he makes use of people. If it is for dishonour, there are also people he uses.
Think of it this way, in your house, there are different drinking cups for different people.
When there is an important guest, there is a special cup for him, but when a beggar asks for water, there is another cup for him. This is how we are in the sight of God.
TODAY, LET’S LOOK AT TWO PRACTICAL STEPS TO LEAVE A CONSECRATED LIFE
Acknowledging you have sinned
This is the first step to take in the journey of Sanctification. You must recognise that you are a sinner
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us…” (1 John 1:9)
Accept the person of the Holy Spirit.
You cannot live a holy life without the Holy Spirit.
Holiness is not achieved by human effort—it is empowered by divine presence. The Holy Spirit is the custodian of holiness.
He dwells within us, guiding, correcting, and teaching us how to live right, even in a world filled with compromise. He doesn’t just instruct from afar—He walks with you daily, shaping your desires, strengthening your will, and helping you overcome sin. When you accept Him, you receive the grace to live what you could never achieve on your own.
“Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16)

TODAY, I MAKE A CHOICE TO LIVE A LIFE OF SANCTIFICATION FREE OF SIN. I ACKNOWLEDGE MY SINFUL LIFE AND CONFESS IT TO GOD. I ACCEPT HIM IN MY LIFE AND ALLOW HIM TO BE THE PILOT OF LIFE.
THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVES IN ME, AND I AM NOT A SLAVE TO SIN ANYMORE. HALLELUJAH!!
