JESUS IN THE MIDST OF UNBELIEF AND IMPOSSIBILITY
KEY VERSE:``` "And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea" (MARK 6:48).
Mark 6 begins with Jesus rejected in His hometown β βthey were offended at him.β It ends with Him revealed as Lord over the sea. In between, He feeds five thousand with five loaves. This is the Gospel from Calvary β men may despise Him, but the winds still obey Him. The disciples were toiling, rowing against a contrary wind, in the dark, in the fourth watch. They thought they were alone, but He saw them. And He came, walking upon what was drowning them. The very sea that threatened them became His pathway.
Three truths from that night: One, He sees you toiling. βHe saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary.β He sees your midnight battle, your family pressure, your hidden tears. You may feel forgotten at Nazareth, but you are seen on the sea. Two, He comes in the fourth watch. When strength is gone, when the night is darkest, Jesus comes. He did not calm the wind from the shore; He came into the storm. Calvary proves He will enter your storm to save you. Three, He turns what was against you into a platform for glory. He walked upon the sea. The storm that terrified them carried Him. And when He entered the boat, the wind ceased. Those who touched but the border of His garment were made whole.
Is the wind contrary today? Are men offended, doors shut, resources small? Take courage. He that multiplied bread still feeds. He that walked on water still comes. Welcome Him into your boat.
