"THE HEART" — WHAT GOD SEES WITHIN
A PURE HEART
Matthew 5:8 (LLV) —
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
Jesus
did not say,
“Blessed are
the perfect.”
He said,
“Blessed are
the pure
in heart.”
A pure heart
is not
a flawless heart.
It is
a heart
that longs
to please God.
A heart
that is honest
before Him.
A heart
that is not
divided
between loving God
and loving
the world.
When water
is clear,
we can see
through it.
When a window
is clean,
light shines
through it.
In the same way,
when our hearts
are yielded
to God,
we begin
to see
His work
more clearly.
Not because
God has changed,
but because
our hearts
are no longer
clouded
by selfish ambition,
hidden sin,
or divided loyalties.
Jesus promises
that the pure
in heart
“shall see God.”
We catch glimpses
of His presence
in everyday moments.
We recognize
His hand
in answered prayers.
We discover
His peace
even in difficult days.
And one day,
our faith
will become
sight.
Until then,
God continues
the gentle work
of purifying
our hearts,
day by day,
drawing us
closer
to Himself.
A new beginning sees more clearly when the heart belongs completely to God.
Reflection: Are there divided loyalties or hidden attitudes that are keeping my heart from fully seeking God?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for desiring truth within my heart. Remove anything that competes for my devotion to You. Purify my thoughts, my motives, and my desires, so that my life reflects Your goodness. Help me seek You above all else, and open my eyes to recognize Your presence each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
