EVERYONE ABANDONED THE PROPHET... BUT ONE FOREIGNER STOOD UP TO SAVE HIM. His name was Ebed-Melech. He was an Ethiopian servant in the palace of King Zedekiah. During a dark time in Judah, the prophet Jeremiah warned the people to turn back to God. But instead of listening... The leaders rejected him. They threw Jeremiah into a muddy cistern and left him there to die. Everyone saw his suffering. But most people did nothing. Then one man stepped forward. Ebed-Melech. He was not a priest. He was not a prophet. He was not a powerful leader. He was simply someone who feared God and cared about what was right. He went before the king and said: "This man is going to die." Because of his courage, the king commanded him to rescue Jeremiah. Ebed-Melech gathered ropes and old clothes. He lowered them into the pit and carefully pulled Jeremiah out. The same man others had thrown away... Was lifted because one person chose compassion. But the story does not end there. When Jerusalem faced judgment, God remembered Ebed-Melech. God told Jeremiah: "I will rescue you on that day... because you trusted in Me." Here's the deeper revelation. God sees the people who stand for Him when it is unpopular. The world may forget your kindness. People may overlook your sacrifice. But God remembers. LESSON: You don't need a position of power to make a difference. A heart that fears God can bring hope into a place of darkness.
