A handshake can introduce you to a person, but only time reveals their true character. Some people smile while secretly celebrating your downfall. They applaud your success in public but criticize your name in private. They promise loyalty with their lips while carrying betrayal in their hearts. Not every embrace is genuine, and not every friendship is sent by God.

One of life's hardest lessons is discovering that the deepest wounds are often inflicted by people you trusted the most. Judas did not betray Jesus with a sword but with a kiss. The enemy often disguises deception with familiarity, kindness, and flattering words. That is why discernment is more valuable than popularity. Stop giving unrestricted access to everyone who enters your life. Protect your peace, guard your heart, and pray for wisdom before placing your confidence in people.

Do not become bitter because of fake people—become wiser. Their betrayal may break your heart, but it can also build your discernment. Every painful disappointment is preparing you to recognize genuine relationships and avoid dangerous ones. God sometimes exposes hidden snakes, not to destroy you, but to protect your destiny.

Some people are assignments from heaven; others are lessons you must survive. Learn the difference.
