"THE HEART" — WHAT GOD SEES WITHIN
WHERE YOUR HEART RESTS
Matthew 6:21 (LLV) —
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Jesus
knew
that our hearts
are always
moving
toward something.
We give
our time.
Our thoughts.
Our energy.
Our affection.
Little by little,
our hearts
settle
where we have placed
our treasure.
If our treasure
is found
only
in success,
our hearts
rise
and fall
with achievement.
If our treasure
is found
in possessions,
our hearts
cling
to things
that cannot
last.
If our treasure
is found
in the approval
of others,
our hearts
become
prisoners
of opinions.
But when
our treasure
is Christ,
our hearts
find
a place
of lasting peace.
The world
constantly invites us
to treasure
what fades.
Jesus invites us
to treasure
what is eternal.
Every choice
we make
is quietly
shaping
our hearts.
Not all at once,
but day
by day.
The wonderful news
is that
our hearts
can always
be redirected.
Every prayer.
Every act
of worship.
Every moment
spent
in God's Word.
Every quiet
act of obedience.
These are not
simply
good habits.
They are ways
of placing
our treasure
where it will
never be lost.
When Christ
becomes
our greatest treasure,
our hearts
discover
the home
they were created
to find.
A new beginning begins by placing its greatest treasure in Christ, trusting that the heart will follow where He leads.
Reflection: What has been receiving the greatest share of my thoughts, my time, and my affection this week?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me what truly matters. Help me treasure You above every temporary pursuit. Draw my heart away from the things that fade and anchor it in Your unchanging love. May my thoughts, my desires, and my choices reveal that You are my greatest treasure. In Jesus' name, Amen.
