As I read the book of Joel in the first 2 chapters, it blesses me that although in the first chapter at first glance it could look harsh, and it will be a little difficult to see the goodness of God, however, by scrutinizing each word, each verse and meditating on it , I can see God moving as a compassionate God, a God who was calling all the people to repent, was calling the people to humble themselves before Jehovah, was calling to brokenness, to surrender to God, to that he would cry out, that he would groan, that he would tear his heart and return to the God of his fathers, to the God of Abraham of Isaac, to the Almighty God, we see in chapter 2 of Joel, it says that Jehovah is gracious, slow to anger, and great in mercy, and continues saying in chapter 2:18 that God showed his love for his people by having compassion on all of them, and I can see that what precedes a promise is a demand or a command, that is, before unleashing blessings or promises, an order from God must be obeyed; Do you want a blessing? do you want promises? We must comply with what God commands you, and commands me, that is, your obedience and my obedience cause the heavens to open and the early and late rain to be unleashed as Joel 2:23 says; Today God is also calling us to repent, he reminds us that we must humble ourselves to Him, obey what God commands us, and we will see the rain of God for us and ours, our entire family, for them they are also the promises of God.
