THE CROSS OF CALVARY
🏼

THURSDAY 6TH AUGUST, 2026

```TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17-21```
```KEY VERSE:``` "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" (2 CORINTHIANS 5:21).

This is the great exchange of Calvary. God took what was ours β€” sin β€” and put it on Christ who knew no sin. And He took what was His β€” righteousness β€” and put it on us who knew no righteousness. At the Cross, Jesus became what we were that we might become what He is. He who knew no sin was made sin, not a sinner, but sin itself. That the sinner who knew no righteousness might be made righteousness.

Three truths from the great exchange: One, Christ knew no sin. He was spotless, sinless, undefiled. Yet He went to Calvary willingly. Two, He was made sin for us. God made Him to be sin for us. All your guilt, all your shame, all your condemnation was laid on Him. He carried it, He became it, He died under it. Three, we are made the righteousness of God in Him. Not just righteous, but the righteousness of God. Not in ourselves, but in Him. At Calvary, your sin became His, and His righteousness became yours. You do not work for it; you wear it.

Are you still trying to earn what Calvary already gave? Stop striving for righteousness and start standing in righteousness. You are not trying to be righteous; in Christ, you are made the righteousness of God. Live today like a righteous man, for that is what the Cross made you.

Prayer
Father, thank You for the great exchange at Calvary. Thank You that Jesus who knew no sin was made sin for me, that I who knew no righteousness might be made Your righteousness in Him. Today I receive not just forgiveness, but righteousness. Let me stand before You bold and live before men holy, in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

May the Lord cause you to see yourself as Calvary sees you today. May you walk not in guilt but in righteousness, may His righteousness be your garment and your boast, and may His holiness be seen in your life, through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. 🏼
