✝Living the Kingdom Way: Four Day Walk Through Matthew 6 ✝
DAY 1 — The Secret Life of the Believer
Read: Matthew 6:1–6

Reflection
Jesus begins by addressing the motives behind our spiritual actions. He teaches that giving, serving, and praying are not meant to be public displays but private expressions of devotion. The Father values what is done in secret because it reveals the true condition of the heart. The secret place becomes the foundation of authentic faith. It is where pride is stripped away, humility grows, and intimacy with God deepens. When no one is watching, the believer discovers who they really are before God.

Application
Ask yourself: If no one ever saw my devotion, would I still do it?
Choose one spiritual practice this week to intentionally move into the secret place.
Let God reshape your motives so your actions are driven by love, not recognition.

Prayer
Father, cleanse my motives and draw me into the secret place. Let my devotion be sincere, humble, and pleasing to You. Amen.
