WHY GOD LOVES ONENESS?
God is love. Yahweh is love. That is why He wants us to become one, to be united, to be equal, to be compassionate toward one another, to be kind to one another, and to lay down our lives for others.
But why does God desire unity? Because unity reflects who He is. God is not divided. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit live in perfect love, harmony, and oneness. Love always brings together; it does not divide.
From the very beginning, God's plan has been to make many become one. He created husband and wife to become one flesh. Through Jesus Christ, He gathers people from every nation into one body, the Church. Though we are many members, we are one in Christ.
God's purpose is not to erase our uniqueness but to unite us in love. Just as the many parts of one body work together, we are called to live in unity while keeping the gifts and personalities God has given us.
Sin separates, but love restores. Pride divides, but humility unites. Hatred scatters, but God's love gathers. This is why Jesus prayed, "That they may all be one, just as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You" (John 17:21).
When we love God, love one another, and even learn to love ourselves as God loves us, we reflect His own heart. The God who is One desires His people to become one, so that the world may know Him through our love and our unity.
