"WHO GOD SAYS I AM"
I AM LOVED
Romans 8:38–39 (LLV) —
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor rulers, neither things present nor things to come, nor powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The world
often teaches us
that love
must be earned.
If we succeed,
we are accepted.
If we fail,
we wonder
whether we still
belong.
But God's love
does not
rise and fall
with our performance.
Paul searched
for every force
he could imagine.
Death.
Life.
The present.
The future.
The highest heights.
The deepest depths.
Then he gathered
them all together
and declared:
None of them
has the power
to separate us
from God's love.
Our circumstances
may change.
Our emotions
may change.
Even our confidence
may sometimes
grow weak.
But God's love
does not change.
His love
is not based
upon our worthiness.
It is rooted
in His character.
He loved us
before
we sought Him.
He loved us
while Christ
gave His life
for us.
And He will
continue
to love us
through every season
of our lives.
That does not mean
God overlooks
our sin.
It means
His love
was great enough
to provide
our Savior.
The cross
stands forever
as the proof
that God's love
is stronger
than our failures.
When we begin
to believe
this truth,
fear
begins
to lose
its grip.
We no longer
serve God
trying
to earn
His love.
We serve Him
because
we have already
received it.
A new beginning starts here:
resting in the unshakable truth that nothing in all creation can separate you from the love God has shown you in Christ Jesus.
Reflection: When I think about God's love, do I see it as something I must earn, or as a gift I have already received through Christ?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me with a love that never changes. When I doubt, remind me that Your love is not based on my success or failure, but on Your faithful character. Help me rest in that truth today and live each day as someone deeply loved by You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
