August 11 🌿 “WHO GOD SAYS I AM” I AM FULLY KNOWN 📖 Psalm 139:1–4 (LLV) — “O LORD, You have searched me and You know me. You know when I sit down and when I rise. You understand my thoughts from far away. You observe my path and my resting place, and You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word reaches my tongue, O LORD, You already know it completely.” Most people know only a portion of who we are. They know the words we choose to speak. The actions they happen to see. The parts of our story we decide to share. But God knows us completely. “O LORD, You have searched me and You know me.” David did not say that God merely knows about him. God knows him. Personally. Deeply. Completely. He knows when we rise to begin the day and when we finally rest. He sees the ordinary moments that no one else notices. “You understand my thoughts…” Before we explain what troubles us, God already understands. He knows the fears we cannot express. The questions we struggle to put into words. The hopes we scarcely dare to admit. He understands even when we do not fully understand ourselves. “You are familiar with all my ways.” Nothing about us surprises God. He knows our strengths. Our weaknesses. Our faithful moments. Our failures. He has never discovered something about us that caused Him to reconsider His love. That may be the most comforting truth of all. The God who knows us best is also the One who loves us most. We do not need to pretend before Him. We do not need to hide our questions, our wounds, or our struggles. We can come just as we are, because He already knows the whole story. To be fully known by another person can feel frightening. To be fully known by God is freedom. There is nothing left to conceal. Nothing left to prove. Only the invitation to rest in the presence of the One who understands us completely and loves us still. A new beginning rests in this assurance: I am completely known by God—and nothing He knows has caused Him to stop loving me. Reflection: Are there parts of my heart or my story that I still hesitate to bring honestly before God, even though He already knows them completely? Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for knowing every part of me and loving me still. You understand my thoughts before I can explain them and know my words before I speak. Help me live honestly before You, without hiding or pretending. Search me, guide me, and remind me that I am always safe in Your perfect knowledge and unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
