WAIT… THAT’S IN THE BIBLE? DAY 2
“A lighthearted look at some of the wonderfully unexpected things you discover when you actually read your Bible, context still matters!”
“He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.” Proverbs 27:14
Apparently even the Bible understands that some people are just NOT morning people.
Imagine it…
You’ve barely opened your eyes.
You haven’t had your coffee.
And someone walks in:
“GOOD MORNING!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY! GOD BLESS YOU!!!”
And Proverbs basically says:
At that hour…
even the blessing might sound like a curse.
Of course, the proverb isn’t really commanding us to drink coffee or banning cheerful people before breakfast.
It’s wisdom about timing and consideration.
Even something good, like blessing someone, can become irritating when it’s delivered loudly, thoughtlessly, or at the wrong time.
So today’s biblical wisdom:
Bless your friends.
Love your neighbours.
But perhaps… let them have their coffee first.
Sometimes Bible study gives you deep revelation…
and sometimes it tells you NOT TO SHOUT AT PEOPLE EARLY IN THE MORNING.
