A Joyful Heart
Proverbs 17:22 (AMP):
“A happy heart is good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”
There is something powerful about joy. Proverbs 17:22 reminds us that a joyful heart is not merely an emotion—it can bring strength, encouragement, and healing to our lives.
Life can sometimes give us plenty of reasons to worry, become discouraged, or lose our joy. But our joy does not have to depend on our circumstances. We can choose to rejoice because God is still good, He is still faithful, and He is still with us.
A joyful heart doesn’t mean pretending that everything is perfect. It means choosing to trust God even when things are difficult. Sometimes a smile, a thankful prayer, a worship song, or simply remembering God’s faithfulness can lift a heavy spirit.
Today, ask God to renew your joy. Give Him your disappointments and allow His peace to fill your heart. Your circumstances may not change immediately, but God can change the way you walk through them.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that my joy comes from You. When my heart feels heavy, remind me of Your goodness and faithfulness. Help me to choose joy even in difficult circumstances. Fill my heart with Your peace, hope, and strength. Let my joyful spirit also encourage and bless those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today’s Thought:
My joy is not determined by my circumstances. My joy is found in the Lord.
