God's solemn and persistent plea to His people is to live in obedience to Him. Obedience to God is an expression of our love for Him, and the Lord delights in it more than any sacrifices we can make. Obedience is not always easy and will not always be appealing to our flesh. However, the Lord desires obedience because all of God's commandments are entirely for our good and the good of others. When we choose to obey God, it deepens our closeness with Him, keeps us in the center of His will, guards us from sin, helps us overcome temptation, assures us of God's guidance and enables us to walk in holiness.
