The Wisdom of God Beyond King Ahasuerus' Kingship
Esther chapter 10 closes with what seems like an ordinary political report, yet it quietly reveals the wisdom and providence of God after the great deliverance of His people.
King Ahasuerus was not consumed by the chaos that had unfolded throughout his kingdom. He did not allow the presence of death, political tension, or even the victory of Queen Esther's people to keep him from fulfilling his responsibility as king. As believers awaiting Christ's return:
- Remain faithful in the responsibilities God has given you, even after seasons of difficulty.
- Seek the welfare of others rather than personal recognition, following Mordecai's example.
- Accept that some assignments are seasonal. Like Esther, be willing to step forward when God calls and step back when your task is complete.
- Trust that God continues ordering history even when His work appears quiet. His providence never stops.
"For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations." (Psalm 22:28)
