Not Everyone is Going to Heaven.
It’s been said over and over again - “I’m a good person, and as long as I don’t break any laws, I’m going to heaven.” But that is not what the Bible says in Matthew 7:21, where we’re told, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” You see, it’s not about “being a good person” but rather “loving God and believing in Him.” The Bible even takes it one step further and says in John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” God wants us to not only love and believe in Him, but to also “obey” Him by keeping His commandments. There’s a beautiful promise in this favorite scripture found in John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” We need to stop fooling ourselves into thinking we can merrily go through life, just being a “good person,” and not worrying about salvation - because if we do - we will miss out on eternity with our Lord and Savior! Make no mistake - not everyone is going to heaven - only those who love and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and keep His commandments - have a ticket to heaven!! Text: John 11:25-26, 1 John 3:2-3, Acts 16:31, Isaiah 50:10
