In David's story, when he finally became King of Israel, the first thing he did was to bring the Ark to the city, the heart of the people of Israel. In the very next chapter, 2 Samuel 7 God makes the Davidic covenant, giving David many promises of good thing for him and his family.
When you make God center of your life God has already made promises for you and your family.
Things like: to be with you; to provide for your needs, peace, to forgive your sins, strength in your weakness, rest, eternal life and He will never leave you nor forsake you!
