Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego trusted that God was able to rescue them from the fiery furnace, but their faith was not dependent upon Him doing so. Their “even if” faith declared that God was worthy of their obedience regardless of the outcome. This verse reminds us that genuine faith is more than trusting God to give us what we want—it is trusting His character when the answer is not what we hoped for. Sometimes the greatest declaration of faith is simply, “Even if He doesn’t, I will still trust Him.”
