REMEMBER YOUR SOURCE Never forget where you came from or who helped you get to where you are today. You cannot crown yourself a king. Behind every king, there is a kingmaker. Behind every great leader, there are people who believed in, supported, and gave that leader the opportunity to lead. Leadership is not something you simply declare for yourself. A true leader is chosen by the people, trusted by the people, and accountable to the people. You did not make yourself. Someone opened a door. Someone gave you a chance. Someone taught you. Someone stood with you when you were still becoming the person you are today. Great men are made—not born by themselves. Therefore, never become so powerful that you forget your beginning. Never become so comfortable in your position that you believe you are irreplaceable. Positions can change. Titles can be taken away. People can move on. And the same people who helped put you there may one day choose someone else. Never mistake a position for permanent ownership. If you are given the privilege to lead, lead with humility. If you are given influence, use it to lift others. If you are given power, remember that power is temporary. And if you are celebrated today, remember those who stood with you when nobody knew your name. Stay humble. Remember your source. Respect your people.
