Where does the power to build an ideal life actually come from?
Not from our schedules. Not from how well we plan our calendars. Because as we move through time, we have no real control over the opportunities, challenges, surprises, sorrows, or unexpected turns life brings us.
That power can only be found within — the one place we do have control, and the only place real personal development can happen.
Building a meaningful life has two dimensions:
The spiritual — growing our relationship with God, maturing into who we were originally created to be
The physical/earthly — cultivating the satisfaction and comfort that make our days here meaningful
"Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life." — Proverbs 4:23
Everything flows from the heart. Our thoughts become deeds. Our deeds bear the fruit of our character — and ultimately, our destiny.
Even with everything pulling at us from the outside, it's what's established within — our beliefs, our convictions, our knowledge — that eventually prevails. That's why guarding the paradigm that flows out of our own hearts matters so much. It holds the key to how our lives turn out.
