Kingdom Carriers | When Obedience Doesn’t Make Sense One of the interesting things about following Jesus is that He doesn't always explain everything before asking us to obey. Peter had fished all night and caught nothing. Then Jesus said: “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” (Luke 5:4) From Peter's perspective, it didn't make much sense. He was the fisherman. He knew the water. He knew the conditions. And he had already tried. Yet Peter responded: “But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”  (Luke 5:5) Those few words carry a powerful Kingdom principle: “Because You say so.” Sometimes we want God to explain before we obey. Show me how it will work. Show me where it will lead. Show me what I'll gain. Then I'll move. But Kingdom obedience doesn't always begin with understanding. Sometimes it begins with trust. Noah built before rain came. Abraham left before knowing where he was going. Peter lowered the nets after experience told him there was nothing there. The breakthrough wasn't found in Peter trying harder. It came when Jesus' word became greater than Peter's experience. Perhaps there is something God has already placed before us that we're still trying to understand before we're willing to obey. Maybe tonight the question isn't: “Lord, does this make sense?” Maybe it's simply: “Lord, did You say it?” Because when the King speaks, obedience doesn't require the whole map.
