Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
What a long day yesterday was. Though it involved a lot of driving, fellowship and family time were absolutely wonderful. Today, the plan is to go to the Amish flea markets and see if we can find something we can’t live without.
In the midst of all the driving, the arcade, dinner … I realized that God had given me the exact family that I was supposed to have. Mind you, there has never been a time when I did not appreciate them, love them, or want them … but sometimes, we take them for granted without even knowing it. We take for granted their different gifts and attributes to the family dynamic. Sometimes we decide that this is just life and that is the way it is … never really realizing how beautiful the situation is in the grand scheme of the family. The different personalities that bring out the best and the worst of each of us. Sometimes, it simply takes coming together as one to see the harmonious music in play.
There will always be differences in opinion, ability, points of view, and knowledge of each’s life adventure. There will be sarcasm meant in jest; there will be feelings of apprehension from past encounters … however … the one thing that can absolutely overcome ALL of this potential adversity … God’s Love indwelling in us.
Since my family has been here from across the pond, we have had one big family gathering, and two little partial family gatherings. The life that He has brought back into our everyday life has been fantastic. So wonderful that the enemy has tried on many levels to conduct catastrophic events to implode our harmony. Starting with travel arrangements for the duration of the stay, financial stability for extracurriculars, language barriers, apprehension about the language barriers, to medical situations (never-ending doctor appointments). The enemy has attempted to insert his evil talons into every aspect of this family reunion, and I can honestly say he has failed. If anything, his attempts have made us stronger. God showed me today, just this morning as I have been writing, the memories, the strength, the resourcefulness, and most importantly, the Love.
Today, as we gather once more for a day of family togetherness, I give thanks to our Father in Heaven for the family that he has blessed me with. Their resilience to push through the tough times and lovingly play in the good times. Through the tiredness of travel and the unknown territory of a new city and countryside, the bonds and memories will be everlasting. Thank you, Jesus.
As you go about your day today, give thanks to the Father for your family. Your friends. Your companions. Even if the waters are rough, there is a purpose in those times, and they are on your path for a reason. Seek His face and give thanks. He knows what he is doing, and all that he does brings out the good.
